Centroctena imitans
Superficially similar to Hippotion geryon but immediately distinguishable by the crenulated forewing outer margin and the lack of a pair of subdorsal black patches near the base of the abdomen. Distinguished from Centroctena rutherfordi by the narrower forewing, with a more crenulated and angulate outer margin with the tooth on M2 much more prominent than that on M1. Abdomen with grey medial double line much more clearly marked than in Centroctena rutherfordi.
Male genitalia: Gnathos obtusely pointed. Harpe as in Centroctena rutherfordi but broader before the apex, ending in a slender point. Phallus very different from Centroctena rutherfordi, its apical process having a short subapical dentate crest on the left and a broad flat apically dentate process on the right.
