Craspedortha porphyria
Head with a high broad crest of scales. Pilifer prolonged, resembling a toothbrush. Underscales of abdominal tergites mostly long spiniform, but very weak; spines at edges also prolonged, not strong, scarcely different from pointed scales. Hindtibia lacking subapical pair of spurs. Forewing upperside ground colour shades of brown and pale grey with pale purple highlights; medial area with a dark, roughly pentagonal patch, the basal edge of which reaches the costa at right angles and within which is a roughly triangular black patch with its long edges aligned along the postmedial line; apex with a dark ovate spot bounded basally by a bright white line; outer margin with a uniform pale brown lunate patch; a small black spot present near tornus. Hindwing upperside brown with a dark spot above the anal angle. Frenulum and retinaculum present.
Male genitalia: Uncus long, slender, triangular, downcurved, narrowing to a pointed apex. Saccus broad and rounded. Harpe elongate, sometimes excavate near apex. Phallus with apical edge bent proximally and produced into a short denticulate plate on one side. Vesica with two broad lobes, one of which has a broad patch of small, non-deciduous cornuti.
Female genitalia: Abdominal T8 less strongly sclerotised medially than laterally. Sterigma without armature, lateral edges of ostium bursae somewhat raised.
