Deilephila rivularis
Diagnostic description:
Very similar to Deilephila elpenor but more muted in colour, the khaki areas being dull olive-green and the pink areas less bright and more buff. However, generally more easily identifiable by the presence on the upperside of the abdomen of a series of white spots in the median pink stripe on the posterior margins of the segments, and sometime similar spots in the sublateral pink stripes.
Distribution:
South of the Himalayas, Deilephila rivularis does not appear to extend east of central Nepal. Records from Sikkim remain to be confirmed.
