Dovania poecila
Male: Habitus black, with a few white hair scales. Antenna (except scaling): hazel colour. Abdomen with broad creamy buff rings that are broadly interrupted dorsally, widest laterally, confined to the tergites. Forewing length: 36 mm. Forewing upperside olive-black, with the black lines indistinct, traceable by the presence of bluish white scales in the spaces between them; an area at the posterior angle of the discal cell and extending onto the disc without the bluish white scales; a deeper black, triangular costal patch is continued posteriad as a submarginal band; a white, chevron-shaped apical spot is followed posterior to vein Rs4 by a white line; discal spot ferruginous yellow; fringe with traces of white spots. Undersides of both wings brown, the discal parts rusty brown, this colour extending to the distal margin except anteriorly and posteriorly. Forewing underside with some bluish white scaling in the distal third and white apical markings as on upperside. Hindwing upperside rusty brown, the base and inner margin black. Fringe brown, with small white spots. Hindwing underside with an ill-defined bluish white postdiscal band, and traces of discal bands.
