Eumorpha cissi (Taxonomy)

Most similar to Eumorphaanchemolus but upperside ground colour dark greenish-grey rather than shades of brown and forewing apex rather more falcate. Pronotum and labial palp segment 1 with white spots absent or vestigial. Upperside of abdomen with triangular dorsal patches less constricted anteriorly than in Eumorphaanchemolus. Upperside of tibiae not white. Forewing upperside similar to Eumorpha anchemolus but pattern of dark transverse lines and bands stronger, especially those on the distal half of the wing; a diffuse dark band between M1 and CuA1 (represented by vein dots in Eumorpha anchemolus); posterior margin with a pale buff fringe that extends less distally than the white fringe of Eumorphaanchemolus; pale area on posterior margin between the rhombiform and tornal with two well-delineated zigzag lines. Forewing underside with distal margin similar to Eumorphaanchemolus but rather broader posteriorly. Similar to Eumorpha satellitia satellitia but:uncus narrowed apically but not sharply pointedvalve setose on inner face but without a patch of bristlesharpe shorteraedeagus very slender, apical process thin, acutely pointed.
