Eumorpha phorbas (Cramer, 1775)

Similar to Eumorpha labruscae labruscae in the largely green upperside of the body and forewings, but readily distinguished by lacking blue patches on the hindwing upperside, instead showing essentially the same pattern of orange and dark brown as in Eumorpha capronnieri. Base of hindwing M2 posterior to midline of discal cell; crossvein m2-m3 usually clearly shorter than m1-m2. Upperside of thorax and abdomen with a pair of broad, brown subdorsal stripes (unlike Eumorpha labruscae labruscae which lacks such a stripe), not widened to form large triangular patches on abdominal tergites 5 and 6. Undersides of wings and body almost entirely yellow. Midtibia dorsally white along entire length. Uncus ending in a long, sharp point. Valve narrow from middle to apex, dorsal margin convex in proximal half, mesial basal fold large. Harpe similar to Eumorpha satellitia satellitia, swollen basally and somewhat bent away from the valve. Aedeagus stout, without processes.
