Eupyrrhoglossum sagra
Immediately recognizable by the semi-transparent submarginal spot on the forewing between M3 and CuA1. Forewing Rs3 and Rs4 not fused apically; Rs3 ending on the costal margin a little before the wing apex. Head with a low medial crest. Antenna slender in both sexes, not clubbed, hook long, gradually tapering. Thorax pale grey, contrasting sharply with the dark brown edges and medial line. Forewing upperside with a blackish subbasal band, edged distally in grey; a semi-transparent discal spot between M3 and CuA1. Hindwing upperside with a medial yellow band of nearly even width, sometimes narrowed before middle; fringe yellow.
Male genitalia: Gnathos slender, hooks not strongly curved. Harpe somewhat projecting apically. Phallus with triangularly narrowed apically, right edge of this acuminate part with a row of setae, apex beset all round with similar setae, this portion equivalent to the whip of the other species; a very long thin process situated at the edge of the mouth of the phallus that is a prolongation of the wall of the phallus itself, flat, with one side concave corresponding to the inner surface of the phallus. This process curves in an irregularly raised spiral, and bears about 25 irregularly distributed long branches, all along the same side and nearly the same length.
Female genitalia: Ostium bursae shifted proximad and laterad, lying behind a curved transverse fold.
