Hippotion socotrensis subsp. diyllus
Synonymized with Hippotion socotrense [sic] Rebel as a subspecies by Carcasson, 1968, Jl E. Afr. nat. Hist. Soc. natn. Mus.26 (3): 126.
Very similar to Hippotion socotrensis socotrensis but ground colour paler and more greenish.FWL: 22-25 mm. Forewing upperside as in Hippotion socotrensis socotrensis but median band more reduced, usually indicated by a large, diffuse central spot Similar to Hippotion socotrensis socotrensis but:Saccus longer.Gnathos narrower dorso-ventrally.Harpe shorter, with a more irregular dorsal edge. Antrum very short and broad, slightly angles to the right.Ductus bursae very short.Corpus bursae long, slightly pleated but not pitted; signum long, almost reaching apex of corpus bursae, with minute teeth almost obscuring the smooth median longitudinal area.
