Nomenclature notes:

Rothschild & Jordan (1903) (STI 19807) gave ‡Hoplisthopus, an incorrect original spelling, in the generic key on page 29, but spelled the name as Hoplistopus in the genus treatment on page 49.The latter has been used in all know subsequent pubications and is taken to be the valid orthography.
