Isognathus caricae
Diagnostic description:
Reminiscent in general appearance of a species of Acherontia, especially the darker populations of Acherontia styx . Immediately distinguishable from all other species of Isognathus by the dark marginal band of the hindwing upperside being replaced by a series of black streaks along the veins.
Male genitalia: Harpe spatulate; apically rounded and covered in small teeth. Apical setae of phallus arranged in two rows, one of six and one of one.
