Isognathus menechus
Diagnostic description:
A heavy-bodied species; upperside of body and forewings with a bluish-grey cast; bands on upperside of abdomen well marked.
Male forewing upperside with an antemedial and a pair of postmedial lines, more or less distinct at costal margin, the postmedial pair generally interrupted at M3, then reappearing posteriorly, here concave and connected with the antemedial pair, thus forming a semicircle opening towards the tornus; an elongate black patch between M3 and CuA1 merging basally with the postmedial lines; distal white vein-streaks generally conspicuous.
Female forewing upperside without the black dashes, but with russet area well marked.
