Diagnostic description:
An unmistakeable genus. Most similar to Pachylia ficus but immediately distinguishable by the strongly crenulated outer forewing margin, very large almost square discal spot on the forewing upperside and the inconspicuous medial band on the hindwing upperside. Forewing upperside with a very large, almost square discal spot. Basal three-quarters of hindwing upperside pale brown; medial band reduced to a slightly darker, inconspicuous shade; marginal band dark brown, with a very narrow dark brown postmedial line running along just basal to its inner edge.
