Manduca quinquemaculatus
Habitus: Differs from all other Manduca in that the foretibia has some spines at the end. Forewing upperside with a series of greyish white postdiscal spots that does not reach the costal margin, as it does in Manduca blackburni.
Male genitalia: Uncus prismatically compressed, pointed, hooked. Gnathos similar to that of Manduca sexta, etc., elongate, obliquely truncate in lateral view, lateral margin turned dorsad before apex.Valve similar to that of Manduca sexta, etc. Harpe with a patch of erect scales, outline as in Manduca stuarti and Manduca ochus, weakly dentate at distal margin, ventrally produced into a short process. Phallus with an apical, conical tooth pointing dextero-laterad and a little distad.
Female genitalia: Ostial plate large, the distal part triangular; a fold or ridge runs from the ostium towards each side.
