Manduca violaalba (Clark, 1922)

Transferred to Manduca by d'Abrera, [1987], Sphingidae Mundi: 28 (as ÔÇíviola-alba). Kernbach, 1957, Ent. Z.69: 83, erroneously synonymized violaalba with Protoparce i. incisa as a melanic form and also misinterpreted the specimens in MNHU as the holotype male and a paratype female. Erroneously synonymized with Manduca incisa by Carcasson & Heppner, 1996, Atlas Neotrop. Lepid.4B: 51. Reinstated as a species (as "viola-alba") by Haxaire & Herbin, 1999, Rev. Assoc. rouss. Ent.8: 71.
