Neopolyptychus ancylus
One of the "small" Neopolyptychus that are indistinguishable on external appearance. Male FWL: 28-33 mm, average = 30 mm; female FWL: 32-35 mm, average = 33.6 mm.
Male genitalia: Most similar to those of Neopolyptychus choveti but: Dorsal apical process of valve thinner in dorsal view, not recurved at the very apex, reaching the midline; a distally spinose, elongate, somewhat irregular lobe present on its inner edge basally; shorter and more strongly angled upward (at about 90°) in lateral view. Ventral apical process of valve shorter and blunter. Apex of phallus with a transverse, helical, spinose band that turns through about 360° ventrally.
Female genitalia: As Neopolyptychus convexus but: Lamella postvaginalis narrower, rounded, lacking a medianlnotch. Pointed processes flanking the ostium bursae sub-parallel.
