Nyceryx fernandezi (Taxonomy)
Hindwing underside with yellow anal area reduced compared to Nyceryx continua cratera. 28-31 mm. Forewing underside with a basally well-delimited distal area comprising a greyish submarginal band preceded by a dark brown area that is nearly as intense near the tornus as it is at the apex (in Nyceryx continua cratera this dark brown area gradually gets more diffuse and lighter from apex to tornus). Most similar to Nyceryx continua cratera but forewing outer margin less excavated between R5 and M3, less pointed at M3, and generally less crenulated, giving the moth a broader-winged aspect. Most similar to Nyceryx continua continua but:Saccus shorter.Juxta thinner.Harpe apically spatulate and free from the valve.Aedeagus with apical lobes less produced; whip with denser and more irregularly spaced setae.
