Nyceryx lunaris (Taxonomy)
Immediately distinguishable by the semitransparent spots in the distal half of the forewing and middle of the hindwing, and the salmon-pink basal area of the hindwing upperside. Forewing upperside with several semitransparent spots in the distal half; a black streak present on 1A+2A before the middle (as in Nyceryx ericea but longer and thicker); outer margin with a dark brown triangular patch running from Rs4 to the tornus, with its apex on M2, separate from a lunule of the same colour between Rs3 and Rs4. Hindwing upperside with brownish-orange basal area (similar to Nyceryx magna). Uncus processes converging, touching apically, ventrally rounded-dilated in apical two-fifths, top pointed.Gnathos processes slender, most similar to those of Nyceryx magna; upperside proximally with a transversely placed tooth beyond which the process is first bent downward, then straight with a slight downward curve distally, finally gradually curved upward.Juxta with a club-shaped densely spiked process on either side, these processes essentially identical.Harpe obtuse, compressed.Aedeagus with a row of five setae at base of whip, lacking armature on the opposite side; whip with one seta in the basal half and two in the distal half.
