General description:
Transferred to Nyceryx by Rothschild & Jordan, 1903, Novit. zool.9 (suppl.): 416 (key), 422.
Morphology:
Larger and darker than Nyceryx riscus, with the forewing apex distinctly truncate. Wingspan: average = 66 mm. Uncus and gnathos segment very broad, the lobes strongly downcurved; uncus downcurved and incurved, narrowing apically in side view, twisted, not pointed; lobes of gnathos projecting vertically ventrad then curving evenly distad, horn-shaped, dilated at base, the dilated base carinate on its inner surface, the hook finely channelled.Juxta without armature.Harpe produced into a slender, tapering process.Aedeagus with whip reduced to a slightly curved, conical, pointed, non-movable process that lacks setae.
