Pachylia darceta (Taxonomy)
Forewing upperside with three oblique black lines, two in basal half of the wing, the third almost longitudinal, from upper angle of the discal cell along M3; discal spot black, prominent. Hindwing upperside uniform brown without markings. Forecoxal hair-brush more developed than in the other species of Pachylia.Basitarsus only one-quarter shorter than the tibia, with long scales at the base ventrally. Uncus lobes very much shorter than in Pachylioides resumens, less compressed, very obtuse apically, and here widely separated.Gnathos processes represented by two short, subtriangular lobes that are widely separated from one another.Valve elongate, as in Erinnyis, the patch of bristles of Pachylioides resumens lacking; the double basal tubercle prolonged, pointed, densely punctate-rugose.Harpe of right and left valves different; the right harpe narrowing into a heavy ventro-distal process that bears a small tooth at or near the point of curvature of the upper edge; this tooth is developed on the left harpe into a long, slender, pointed, recurved process that reaches a little beyond the dorsal edge of the valve.Aedeagus produced dorsally into an obtuse lobe, which bears a row of setae along the right and left edges, the rows meeting at the end of the lobe.
