Type data:
Syntypes at least (and probably only) 1♂ 1♀ [Mozambique/Zimbabwe/Zambia]: Zambesi River [coll. Waller]. A. Waller's collection was sold through Stevens' salerooms on 25.iii.1890 (The Athenaeum 1890: 327). The type specimens that it contained are assumed to be lost (manuscript note in the handwriting of G.F. Hampson in the NHMUK Macrolepidoptera Sectional Library copy of Walker, 1854-5, List Specimens lepid. Insects Colln Br. Mus. 1-3).
Taxonomic Notes:
Transferred to Pemba by Rothschild & Jordan, 1907, in Wytsman (ed.), Gen. Ins. 57: 15, then to Pantophaea by Vari & Kroon, 1984, Southern African Lepidoptera: 34.
