[HOLOTYPE] [♂] Jamaica («NHMUK 010200293») [NHMUK]. Rothschild & Jordan, 1903, Novit. zool. 9 (suppl.): 429, noted that there were only three specimens in the Tring Museum at that time. They have all been located in the NHMUK and only one, a male, is of the correct size. Thus, this specimen is inferred to be the holotype. The remaining two specimens are a slightly smaller male and a much larger female.
