Perigonia stulta
Similar to Perigonia pallida but generally darker, forewings broader. Crenulations of forewing outer margin variable in degree of development. Forewing upperside with lacking a distinct grey-brown or pale brown lunate patch on the outer margin. Forewing underside submarginal line distinct at least from the apex to M2, bordered with grey distally. Hindwing upperside very similar to Perigonia pallida but brown border broader and basal patch paler yellow tint; yellow basal area rather constant, always reaching to base; yellow tornal patch variable, rather large in some individuals, vestigial in others. Hindwing underside with yellowish tornal patch.
Male genitalia: As in Perigonia grisea; differing from Perigonia pallida in the much smaller patch of spines on the inner surface of the valve above the harpe and in much shorter phallus whip. In comparison to Perigonia pittieri, phallus bent and much longer, equal in length to four times the apical width of the phallus; two cornuti with very few setae on the whip, one at the base and another apically with two setae.
This diagnostic description needs to be updated in the light of the revision of the group by Haaire & Melichar (2025) (STI 23674).
