[Holotype] ♂ Belgian Congo [Zaire: Shaba,] Elisabethville [Lubumbashi], "in the upper reaches of the region" [MNHU]. Kernbach, 1955, Rev. Zool. Bot. afr. 51: 23, stated that Polyptychus auriguttatus was described from a single male.
