Type(s) [♀] [Indonesia: Maluku,] Amboina [Ambon] [coll. Prince d'Orange & de Nassau]. A neotype was incorrectly and unnecessarily designated by Eitschberger, 2001, Neue ent. Nachr. (Suppl. 1): 9.

Taxonomic Notes:

Transferred to Psilogramma by Rothschild & Jordan, 1903, Novit. zool. 9 (suppl.): 42. DNA barcoding shows that the populations of Psilogramma menephron menephron on Ambon, Buru, Bacan/Halmaheira and Obi are slightly divergent from each other but in the absence of any consistent morphological differences, they are all treated here as Psilogramma menephron menephron.
