Type data:
SYNTYPES [≥4♂] [South Africa:] Natal [NHMUK]. In the original description, Rothschild & Jordan stated "In the Tring Museum 11 ♂♂, 4 ♀♀ from: Natal and Cape Colony. Type: ♂, Natal." Thus, only the males from Natal can be interpreted as syntypes. Of the original series, four males and two females labelled "Natal" have been located in the NHMUK, together with four males and three females with label data "Transkei, Cape Colony. (Miss Barrett)." The discrepancy between the reported and actual number of females may be due to a gender determination error on the part of Rothschild & Jordan. The location of the remaining two (?three) males is unknown.
