Theretra improvisa
Forewings very broad, outer margin strongly convex, apex sharply pointed and inner margin strongly concave before tornus. Upperside of head and thorax dark black-brown; thorax with a pale grey double line along each edge (pale brown in Theretra orpheus pelius). Forewing upperside with pale band between third and fourth postmedial lines visible from costa to 1A; pale band between fourth and fifth postmedial lines strongly developed; area basad of these bands very dark, warm black-brown with a well-developed discal spot. Wingspan: 50 mm.
Male genitalia: Similar to Theretra orpheus pelius but: Uncus long and strong, strongly sclerotized and apically pointed. Gnathos long, well sclerotized in the apical quarter and sharply pointed. Valve with a single long stridulatory scale with parallel sides. Harpe larger, upper edge more regularly convex, apex very pointed. Phallus about a third longer, straight but with a slight constriction before the coecum, gradually and progressively narrowed distally. Vesica lacking cornuti.
