Aellopos fadus (Cramer, 1775)

Most similar to Aellopos titan titan but the forewing differing in the divided white spots of the postmedial band and the discal spot being inconspicuous or absent. Abdomen with sharply marked broad white belt dorsally on segment 4. Forewing upperside with white postmedial spots partly doubled, the spots between M1 and M2, and M2 and M3, being always more or less completely divided into two lunules each, spot between Rs4 and M1 always present; discal spot inconspicuous or absent. Forewing underside with a conspicuous double row of white lunules posterior to the discal cell. Hindwing upperside similar to Aellopos titan titan but with whitish scaling at tornus reduced.

Male genitalia: Phallus with seven to nine spines along left side long and arranged in a single row; two or three apical setae, the most distal one longest; whip long, bearing two or three subapical setae.
