Afrosataspes galleyi
Morphology:
A generalized Xylocopa (Hymenoptera, Apidae) mimic. Immediately recognizable by the general black coloration, with the exception of the white anterior margin to the hindwing upperside. Most similar to Sataspes ribbei but with a truncate (not pointed) forewing apex and lacking the three narrow transverse yellow bands of that species.Forewing Rs1+2 and Rs3 fused apically. Antennae short. Uncus bifid.Gnathos absent.Juxta very large, lyre-shaped.
