Andriasa contraria subsp. igomaensis Darge, 2012

Synonymized with Andriasa contraria as a subspecies by Kitching and Rougerie et al., 2018, Biodivers. Data J. 6: e22236. DNA barcode analysis suggests that the internal taxonomy of Andriasa contraria s.l. is complex and requires further and comprehensive study of both morphology and DNA sequence data (both mitochondrial and nuclear). DNA barcodes suggest that Andriasa igomaensis is a separate taxon but could only be assigned species status if, at least, the subspecies diffusus, suffusa and submarginalis were also raised to species status. As this work has yet to be undertaken, it is considered here that for now it is best to treat igomaensis as a subspecies of Andriasa contraria.
