Gnathothlibus astyanor
Superficially similar to other species of Gnathothlibus but immediately distinguishable by the lack of any yellow or orange on the hindwing upperside. Antennae very long, extending beyond the discal spot. Forewing apex produced, outer margin obtusely angulate at M2. Hindwing with Rs and M1 stalked; crossvein m3-cu longer than m1-m2. Foretibia with epiphysis almost as long as foretibia. Pretarsus with strongly developed arolium. Midtibial spurs nearly equal in length, about twice as long as midtibia width. Forewing upperside ground colour brown; antemedial band slightly and evenly curved, edges darker brown, medially with a slight purplish tone, situated just basal of small dark discal spot; proximal edge of postmedial band strongly convex at M2; apex with a brown triangular mark; area proximad of postmedial band with greyish overtone; marginal band with irregular proximal edge. Hindwing upperside reddish-brown with greyish marginal band.
Male genitalia: Uncus much longer than gnathos, ending in a ventral hook. Valve ovate. Harpe long, slender, hook-shaped. Phallus with two anteriorly-directed processes.
