Sataspes caerulea
Diagnostic description:
Differs from Sataspes infernalis, Sataspes javanica, Sataspes tagalica and Sataspes xylocoparis in the entirely black abdomen (there is some yellow scaling, either on the upperside and/or underside, in the other four species).
Male genitalia: Similar to those of Sataspes infermalis and Sataspes xylocoparis but: uncus lobes lack a distinct dentate lobe on their inner edges (there is only a small number of ill-defined teeth instead); dorsal lobel of harpe narrow, apically pointed and stringly outcurved (broader and almost straight in Sataspes infernalis; apically blunt in Sataspes xylocoparis).
Distribution:
Records from Brunei, Sabah and Sarawak remain to be confirmed.
