General description:
Synonymized with Callionima pan as a subspecies by Oiticica Filho, 1944, Bolm Mus. nac. Rio de J. (N.S. Zool.) 21: 13. Reinstated (as ÔÇíneavei) as a species by d'Abrera, [1987], Sphingidae Mundi: 102. Resynonymized with Callionima pan by Carcasson & Heppner, 1996, Atlas Neotrop. Lepid.4B: 55. Reinstated as a subspecies of Callionima pan by Kitching & Cadiou, 2000, Hawkmoths of the world: 40.
Morphology:
Extremely similar to Callionima pan pan but forewing apex rounded (not truncate), outer margin barely excavate below apex and evenly curved. Very similar to Callionima pan pan but apices of gnathos lobes somewhat elbowed, twisted and acutely pointed.
