Theretra celata subsp. babarensis
General description:
Synonymized with Theretra celata as a subspecies by Vaglia, Haxaire, Kitching & Liyous, 2010, European Ent. 3: 69.
Morphology:
Forewing upperside similar to Theretra clotho clotho but ground colour sandy-yellow rather than greyish-green. Wingspan: 6.5-7.37 cm. Wingspan: 7.3-8.5 cm. Similar to Theretra clotho clotho but:
Apex of harpe low, not raised into a bluntly triangular, toothed lobe.
Aedeagus shorter, apical deciduous cornuti with only three short thorns (three short and one long thorn in Theretra clotho clotho).
Vesica with third diverticulum very short, not finger-like. Similar to Theretra clotho clotho and Theretra indistincta indistincta but separable by the shorter antrum and signum.
