Cephonodes woodfordii
Very similar to Cephonodes hylas but larger and immediately distinguishable by the orange (not white) underside to the thorax. Foretibia lacking an apical claw. Underside of head, thorax and legs (except hindtarsus) orange; underside of abdomen black with small orange lateral and medial patches on each sternite; anal tuft largely black. Forewing upperside with marginal band about 1 mm wide below Rs4.
Male genitalia: Uncus slightly asymmetrical, elongate, tapering apically, divided by a medial groove, the two halves only separate at the extreme apex, left lobe slightly longer than the right. Gnathos produced into an asymmetrical long, lanceolate lobe that is removed towards the left side but not so much as in Cephonodes leucogaster. Juxta long, compressed. Valves nearly like in Cephonodes picus; left valve long, narrow, slightly curved, truncate; right valve large, very broadly sole-shaped, inner surface clothed with black hairs, no distinct medial fold.
