Cizara ardeniae
Diagnostic description:
Forewing ground colour dark blackish-green, distal edge of which is evenly curved; costa, outer and inner margins pale brown edged internally with cream; discal spot large, oval, translucent, from which a narrow, parallel-sided cream band runs almost perpendicularly to the inner margin. Hindwing upperside ground colour almost uniform dark brown, with a short linear yellow mark near the tornus.
Male genitalia: Harpe narrow, tapering. Phalus with a scythe-like process bearing a short tooth near apex.
Distribution:
Harris (1990) (STI 18279) reported a single stray specimen of Cizara ardeniae from Naseby, Central Otago, New Zealand; it is not mapped here.
