Erinnyis impunctata (Taxonomy)
General description:
Formally raised to subspecies status by Cary, 1949, Lepid. News3: 78, then to species level by Lichy, 1968, Boln Acad. Cienc. fis., Caracas18: 33. Implicitly re-synonymized with Erinnyis lassauxi [sic] by d'Abrera, [1987], Sphingidae Mundi: 99. Reinstated as a species by Haxaire & Herbin, 1999, Rev. Assoc. rouss. Ent.8: 71.
Morphology:
Very similar to Erinnyis lassauxii f. merianae but smaller and lacking any black dots on the underside of the abdomen.
