Erinnyis obscura (Taxonomy)
General description:
Transferred to Erinnyis by Rothschild & Jordan, 1903, Novit. zool.9 (suppl.): 362 (key), 369.
Morphology:
The second smallest species of Erinnyis (only Erinnyis guttularis is smaller), the larger exemplars agreeing in size with the smallest Erinnyis oenotrus.Sexual dimorphism as in Erinnyis ello and Erinnyis yucatana, with males having a median longitudinal black streak that is absent in females. Uncus lobes pointed, shorter than the long and slender processes of the gnathos.Harpe long, somewhat knife-shaped, obtuse or slightly spatulate, curved, notched or sinuate at end
