Rothschild & Jordan, 1903, Novit. zool. 9 (suppl.): 356, stated that “There is in the Felder collection a specimen of this species labelled "Qreg."; it may be the type. This specimen, a male, is now in NHMUK but lacks the usual early Felder collection type label (handwritten in red ink) and so its type status must be considered unconfirmed at best.
