Pachylia syces subsp. insularis
Diagnostic description:
Very similar to Pachylia syces syces, differing only in the form of the pale medial band on the forewing upperside, which is not interrupted, its basal edge straight or very slightly concave below the centre. In Pachylia syces syces, the transverse dark bands are linked by a crossbar. However, there is a male in CMNH from Montego Bay, Jamaica, in which the transverse dark bands are linked by a crossbar, and a male in the BMNH from Panama in which the bands are separate.
