Type species: Sphinx jasmini Boisduval, 1875, by original designation.
Taxonomic Notes:
The results of preliminary unpublished molecular phylogenomic analyses using both Anchored Hybrid Enrichment and Ultra-Conserved Elelments data, together with an assessment of the immature stages and larval foodplants (Dvorak, 2022; STI 22618), strongly suggest that Panogena is a basal member of the "Psilogramma genus-group" rather than belonging to the "Xanthopan genus-group".
