Psilogramma anne Eitschberger, 2001 [Invalid]

Synonymized with Psilogramma menephron nebulosa by Kitching and Rougerie et al., 2018, Biodivers. Data J. 6: e22236. Psilogramma anne was said to differ from Psilogramma frankenbachi in the generally brighter and more contrasting pattern on the forewing upperside and the "clearly longer" female genitalia. The difference in the forewing pattern holds but is that which separates Psilogramma menephron nebulosa from Psilogramma menephron frankenbachi. The difference in the female genitalia is trivial and not indicative of species status. Furthermore, DNA barcode data place the holotype of Psilogramma anne (as well as the holotypes of Psilogramma bartschereri and Psilogramma gloriosa) in a tight cluster formed of samples of Psilogramma menephron nebulosa from New Guinea and Australia (BIN AAA2712). Consequently, there is no justification for maintaining Psilogramma anne as a species and it is here treated as a junior synonym of Psilogramma menephron nebulosa.
