Holotype ♂ Seychelles: Mahé, 1912 (H. Thomasset) [CUMC]. The original description stated that the holotype was in the NHMUK but it is actually in the Cambridge University Museum, Cambridge, U.K. (Legrand, 1965, Mém. Mus. natn. Hist. Nat. Sér. A, Zoologie 37: 168; confirmed by M.R. Honey, 1996).
