Chloroclanis virescens subsp. ochracea
General description:
Synonymized with the nominotypical subspecies by Carcasson, 1968, Jl E. Afr. nat. Hist. Soc. natn. Mus.26 (3): 29, who considered it merely to be a badly faded specimen. Darge, 1970, Bull. Soc. ent. Fr.75: 258, considered that ochracea was simply a yellow colour form found throughout the range of C. v. virescens. Reinstated as a subspecies based on unstated genital characters by Pierre, 2001, Bull Soc. ent. Fr.106: 264.
Morphology:
Said to differ from Chloroclanis virescens virescens in characters of the male genitalia but these were not described by Pierre (2001): "le g├®nitalia se distingue parfaitement de celui des sp├®cimens occidentaux".
